Historic DC eatery “Bens Chilli Bowl” owner Ben Alil passed yesterday at 82.  Ben Ali opened this restauraunt with his wife Virginia in 1958. It became a staple in the black business community serving his highly praised chilli and half smokes.  Bill Cosby was a favorite guest at Ben’s and most recently President Obama paid a visit after the 2008 Election.
