V-Day with Raheem DeVaughn

V-Day with Raheem DeVaughn
It’s no sin to be single on Valentine’s Day. Even famous R&B singers like Raheem DeVaughn sometimes fly solo on the holiday. The crooner did, however, give us some valuable advice for the fellas out there trying to keep things lively with their ladies this weekend.
Taking some time out from recording his third album “The Love & War MasterPeace,” Raheem gives us a playlist that will help you set the mood and tips to make any lady swoon on the big day.
What are your plans for this Valentine’s Day?
Raheem Devaughn: I’ll be performing. I’m a bachelor at the moment. I’ll get to play Cupid.
What’s the most romantic thing you’ve done for the holiday?
RD: I made a song for the girl I was dating a couple of years ago. Even though it didn’t work out, that will probably be something that she keeps in the back of her mind forever.
How did she react to it?
RD: I hit a homerun. Let’s just say I hit a homerun. [Laughs]
What’s your advice for guys out there who don’t know what they’re doing yet?
RD: Do some things that you don’t normally do. Or do some things that you used to do and don’t do anymore. Because what ultimately happens is that what you do to get somebody, you have to do to keep them. I’m a firm believer in that.
Has a girl ever gotten you something special?
RD: I usually don’t get the best gifts. People always expect something elaborate from me because of the position I’m in. They take it for granted, assuming that I have everything that I’ve ever wanted.
Do you feel lame, bitter or upset that you don’t have a girl to get with for Valentine’s Day?
RD: It will all come in stride. It’s all good. At least I’ll be able to do something for somebody else. I’ll be able to connect the dots for somebody else. And that check is going to be look real good. [Laughs]
If you were making a playlist to set the mood for a woman, who would be on yours?
RD: Prince. Marvin Gaye. Sade. I’m definitely going to throw Maxwell up in there. Luther Vandross. All the classics.
Which of your songs would you put on there?
RD: “Bedroom.” It’s a song off my new album. It’s kind of straight forward and to the point and poetically, it is well put together.
Is it “trickin’” if you got it?
RD: No. I’m not going to do anything unless I want to do it. It doesn’t have anything to do with tricking.
If a girl has sex on the first night, is she a freak or a keeper?
RD: It depends, man. I’ve had long-lasting, serious relationships with girls that I’ve had on the first night. So it all depends. Definitely, a woman that holds out makes it more intriguing.

Jackson’s doctor charged with manslaughter (CNN)
by Lizee on Feb.09, 2010, under Lifestyle
Los Angeles, California (CNN) — Dr. Conrad Murray, personal physician to Michael Jackson, has been charged with a single count of involuntary manslaughter, prosecutors said.
Can the King of Pop finally Rest In PEACE? The Jackson Family, friends, and Fans have been waiting far to long for this conviction.
Dr. Conrad Murray is still pleading not guilty……… I don’t think its even necessary to recap all the questionable activity surrounding Dr. Murray since the death of Michael Jackson.
Members of Michael Jackson’s family — including his parents Joe and Katherine Jackson, sister La Toya Jackson, and brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Randy and Tito Jackson — attended the hearing.
“Not enough,” Jermaine Jackson said when asked what he thought of the charge.
“I don’t like what happened,” Joe Jackson said as he left the courthouse.
La Toya Jackson later issued a statement through a publicist.
“Michael was murdered and although he died at the hands of Dr. Conrad Murray, I believe Dr. Murray was a part of a much larger plan,” her statement said. “There are other individuals involved and I will not rest and I will continue to fight until all of the proper individuals are brought forth and justice is served.”—(CNN)

MTV without the MUSIC?
by Lizee on Feb.09, 2010, under Lifestyle
After 30 years, MTV has finally dropped the “Music Television”. Umm… So what does the M stand for? lol
MTV is still respected as the original, Music Television channel, launching the careers of some of today’s biggest STARS. But, lately…MTV has looked more like the Teen Network, hosting shows like Jersey Shore, The Hills, Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, MADE, Taking The Stage, and of course The Real World.
So, where is the music? Early in the morning you get a nice variety of music videos…. um… yeah, most of the Music has been taking out of Music Television. TRL, does that even come on anymore? TRL used to be what 106 & Park is to BET. It was the live crowd, celebrity visits and interaction, yelling fans and passers by down in Time Square, that made you tune in! Not to mention all the latest music videos from all your favorite artists. But now, MTV is just another place to go to get your Reality TV boost.
I guess we’ll REALLY be anticipating the next VMA’s…Or you can tune into all the MTV baby’s like MTV2 and MTV Jams…for the extra buck of course!

Nas+Damian Marley
by Lizee on Feb.06, 2010, under Lifestyle, Music, Video

The first Damian Marley and NaS collaboration “Road to Zion” reminded us of the power behind Music with a message. Music that comes from artists that speak from experience and knowledge conceived from the streets, books, and the higher-ups.
It was just a matter of time before these “rebels to America” came back together to bless the HipHop/Reggae population with more music reflective of a money, power and respect driven society. NaS and Damian Marley are on a mission to spread truth through their lyrics; with tracks like Marley’s “Road to Zion” & “More Justice” and NaS’ “Just A Moment & “The Message”.

If you missed God’s son and Bob’s son performing together here in the 368….
The album should be dropping April 20th.
