National Weather Service has upgraded the Winter Storm Warning to a Blizzard Warning, beginning at 10PM tonight, and continuing until 10PM tomorrow. The Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect until 10PM. A Blizzard Warning means wind gusts will exceed 35 mph, snow is likely to be extremely heavy, and visibility will be reduced below 1/4 mile. Please make sure to secure all loose objects on your property. This extremely dangerous storm is expected to produce record snowfall for the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Travel conditions tonight will be extremely hazardous and life-threatening, and all citizens are urged to remain indoors. — ALERT DC

CLEVELAND, Nov. 26 (UPI) — NBA greatShaquille O’Neal paid for the funeral of 5-year-old Shaniya Davis, allegedly killed by a man who paid for her sexual services.

“I was sitting at home watching it on the news and the story brought a tear to my eye,” O’Neal told The Cleveland Plain Dealer Wednesday.”Being a law enforcement guy that investigates crimes against children, I wanted to be able to help in some way.”

O’Neal received police training while he was playing with the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Bucks.

Interesting interview with The Urban Daily and one of Hip-Hop’s all star’s Rakim. Rakim speaks about how he has “mixed feelings” about the record Nas put out and says, “he shoulda asked me first”.

Nas talks about Rakim’s life, includes speaking about his children, etc. There seems to not be any array of “beef” arising from this on Rakim’s side, but its clear he took offense to not being asked about this “biography”.

Apparently Mase got word that Diddy was live at a radio station and showed up with paperwork for Diddy to sign that will allow him out of his contract with Bad Boy. Please notice when Mase walks in how uncomfortable Diddy appears to be! Hahaa

Historic DC eatery “Bens Chilli Bowl” owner Ben Alil passed yesterday at 82.  Ben Ali opened this restauraunt with his wife Virginia in 1958. It became a staple in the black business community serving his highly praised chilli and half smokes.  Bill Cosby was a favorite guest at Ben’s and most recently President Obama paid a visit after the 2008 Election.

Our prayers and condolences are with the Ali family.

Less than nine months into his presidency, Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

The Norwegian Nobel committee was quoted saying, “”Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” the committee said.”  He is the 4th president to win this prestigious prize.
