New Drake Video “Over”
by Lizee on Apr.12, 2010, under Lifestyle

Rapper Drake’s anticipated “Thank Me Later” album is still weeks away from its June 15 release date, but the “Best I Ever Had” artist is still busy feeding the fire.
VEVO premiered the video for Drake’s first single “Over” today, and the Young Money star hopes it’ll show his artistic side.
“This is my first video,” he explained to MTV in March. “I’ve shot a lot of videos before, but this is my first attempt to establish myself as Drake the artist.”
Drake thinks the video may also help those who view the track as just another club single to see the song in a new light.
“The song — to a lot of people — is ignorant, it’s club. This video is what I was really thinking about,” he told the network while on his “Away From Home” tour. “It’s a struggle between the purities of my past life and what this new life has to offer.”
Drake worked with director Anthony Mandler to create what he calls the “emotion-evoking visuals” in the four-minute video.
“The song is so aggressive, and it’s sort of a love story in the video,” he told MTV. “[‘Thank Me Later’] is about finding love, feeling, ‘Have I sold my soul?’ as far as, ‘Will I ever be able to gain the trust of a woman? Will I only be able to be around the dark, evil women? Will I ever find that pure love?’ Those elements are in the video.”
Summit On The Summit

A team of 300 celebrities and activists, spearheaded by Kenna, climbed up Mt. Kilimanjaro, in an effort to raise awareness and money for the global clean water crisis. The group, including Jessical Biel, Emile Hirsch and Lupe Fiasco, reached the summit two months ago, and MTV’s 90-minute documentary, Summit on the Summit: Kilimanjaro, chronicling their adventures, premiered Sunday night.— Huffington Post
Summit On The Summit premiered on MTV March 14. If you visit the official website, you can donate a foot step (1 cent per clean liter of water), and post your sponsorship foot on the interactive mountain climb.

“When you go by yourself and you’re on a solo mission, it’s not necessarily something that registers at the end of the day. No one has your back. Getting to the top of Kilimanjaro this time had everything to do with the fact that I had an army with me,” Kenna told MTV News. “Some of us would literally look at each other and say, ‘If you weren’t here, I wouldn’t have made it.’ Our director, Mike Bonfiglio, was basically watching Isabel Lucas, and saw her dedication when she was really, really ill at the top of this mountain. And he, literally, was like, ‘She made it, I’ve got to do this.’ “—MTV

MTV without the MUSIC?
by Lizee on Feb.09, 2010, under Lifestyle
After 30 years, MTV has finally dropped the “Music Television”. Umm… So what does the M stand for? lol
MTV is still respected as the original, Music Television channel, launching the careers of some of today’s biggest STARS. But, lately…MTV has looked more like the Teen Network, hosting shows like Jersey Shore, The Hills, Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, MADE, Taking The Stage, and of course The Real World.
So, where is the music? Early in the morning you get a nice variety of music videos…. um… yeah, most of the Music has been taking out of Music Television. TRL, does that even come on anymore? TRL used to be what 106 & Park is to BET. It was the live crowd, celebrity visits and interaction, yelling fans and passers by down in Time Square, that made you tune in! Not to mention all the latest music videos from all your favorite artists. But now, MTV is just another place to go to get your Reality TV boost.
I guess we’ll REALLY be anticipating the next VMA’s…Or you can tune into all the MTV baby’s like MTV2 and MTV Jams…for the extra buck of course!
